Once again to Riga

So, once again I attached the giant wooden sail to the back of the Landy, and set off on another journey.

Landy plus sauna in the snow

This time I would have some traveling companions, so an easier run (in theory!).

First stop was at the Hammerkit office to collect the new limited edition t-shirts, find me if you think you can convince me you deserve one (pass phrase is #RepeatThis!

Then on to Aalto Venture Garage to collect some Startup Sauna towels for the those that are brave enough to want to take some sauna.

Then onto the ferry. Minor problem in that due to the size of the sauna we needed to be booked in as cargo, which is a different line from the regular cars etc. Cue me having to go to the cargo office and check-in there.
Once on the ferry, as I was starvin like Marvin, I headed stright for the cafe to get something to eat. Seems I was rather hungry as I kind of "inhaled" the meatballs, while the rest of the guys took advantage of the free WiFi.

The next challenge was that when the announcement to go to your car came, it seemed that the need to pee was number one priority, so the group split, luckily we managed to meet up again (pretty sure I should not have stopåped where I did ourtside the terminal, but nobody gave me a ticket, so it was probably ok smiley
Once we had meet up it was the question of who sits where. Not sure if it is a pattern, but it seems that the back four seats are reserved for the most junior memebers of the group, but those were the guys who had thought ahead and got a 24pack.

The original plan was to only stop the once for fuel, but to prevent a repeat of the stories, we stopped off, and everyone stocked up on chips and took some time for a pee break.
We then stopped at the fuel station just over the boarder that also has a Hesburger, for fuel, and something to eat.
All through Estonia, we had been talking about the poor condition of the Latvian roads, and once we crossed the boarder, the guys got to experience that.

At the fuel stop, I remembered that I had brought the loan Trip Butler device along (a series of problems meant it never quite met me during the Paris trip). With this idea, the guys went online to check the news, and also to download a Trivial Pursuit app, for something to do. The app was pretty bad, crashing on startup, but a quick "turn it off and on again" seemed to solve that problem. With 4 devices hammering at the device, in the countryside, it was not so speedy, but it seemed to at least work (and be better than buying lots of SIM cards!)
Once the game started, there was some heated discussions if the driver (with his native UK knoweldge) should be part of one or both teams.

We dropped the sauna off at the suggested location, and then headed off to find the hostel booked for the night. After a long and detailed introduction to Riga (which some of the guys missed being exicted about the idea of shooting an AK47), the guys headed off to get some feed and I headed off to move the Landy (kind of expensive if you leave it in the city center!)

Then back to the hostel to write this post and upload photos to the intardwebs
