A day of Sauna

So once again the decision to Couch surf pays off. The sauna has been burning through the supplied wood rather qucikly, and we had been emailing with some contacts in Amsterdam to see if we could get a reasonable spot to do a sauna evening with them on the route back.

But this means we would need some more wood. Luckily my host for the evening knew someone who could supply the required "Du bois". So short pit-stop before heading to LeWeb to collect some firewood into the back of the Landy.

Once at LeWeb, adn set-up, Kalle from foodie.fm decides to test drive the sauna, and he approves.

Then at 12(ish), Antoine arrives with some lunch. I had dropped him a message as one of the people I had contacted about a possible sauna rental had suggested I contact this sauna-crazy french guy who might be able to help out with a tent sauna. He arrives with a couple of friends and we have a picnic lunch, before heading into the hall to get interviewed at the TWiT studio.

At 13:15 me and Antti Vilpponen from Arctic Startup have a short interview scheduled with Leo Laporte. The video will be up here twit.tv/show/twit-live-specials/99 . We ended up going on around 13.30. But Leo still has not shown up to the sauna!

I also snagged a couple of interviews with startups brave enough to venture near the sauna.

Note to anybody who wants to bring a sauna to LeWeb, make sure you have scheduled some Finns to sauna, and thus stand around outside in towels. That causes many people to come across and ask about the sauna.

If there is not, it is rather quite (everyone being busy staying in the main halls trying to stand out)

let's sauna!
